Esmeralda De Leon has a deep commitment to community service that comes from her personal life experiences. This commitment led her to volunteer in her local church for many years. She provided support to different members of the church including: immigrants, substance abusers, homeless and those who have been previously incarcerated. She also supported their families to work through barriers. She volunteered with the Alameda County Food Bank by sorting and boxing fresh produce to assist families, and providing emotional support to all participants. In professional settings, she has worked directly with elderly and disabled clients by supporting and assisting them in identifying their physical and emotional needs and wants. She’s passionate about helping people develop self-confidence, self-sufficiency and providing support where it’s needed most. She has a B.A. in Human Development.
