Who We Are
The Reentry Success Center was born out of a collaboration between justice-impacted individuals and their caregivers, government workers and officials, and the greater community. They all had come to the same conclusion: the traditional system of incarceration and punishment simply didn’t work. That system often failed the people they were meant to rehabilitate, and the community members they touched also suffered for decades, if not generations.
In 2016, the Reentry Success Center opened its doors after two years of community planning using a collective impact model. In 2018, Rubicon Programs took over operations of the Center. Richmond-based Rubicon Programs has been transforming the East Bay by equipping people to break the cycle of poverty for over fifty years. Today, Rubicon continues to manage the Center.
